Sunday August 10th: 3 Qrs assist calls. On along Rt30 east of Stoystown for a Diabetic Emergency, the 2nd at a residence on Old Lincoln Hwy for chest pains and the 3rd for an injured person at the North Star Middle School in Kantner.
Tree Down
Thursday August 7th 0507hrs: Crew was up early this morning when they were dispatched for a tree down on Old Lincoln Hwy. Attack 604-2 arrived on scene and found one apple tree down blocking the road. Crew cut and removed the tree. Crew returned in service around 0540hrs.
Rollover Accident with 5 Injuries
Friday August 1st 2238hrs: Single vehicle accident with rollover on Pompey Hill Rd. Attack 604-2 and Squad 604-4 responded and arrived on scene to find a single vehicle involved in a rollover with 5 injuries. Reports indicated that at least 3 were ejected from the car. Friedens Fire and Shanksville Fire Companies assisted. Ambulances responded from Stoystown, Somerset, Hooversville and Berlin. State Police are investigating. See additional pictures HERE

Sunday July 27th 2150hrs: Fire alarm assist with Hooversville at Somerset Trust Company. All departments were cancelld by Hooversville before anyone responded.

Friday July 25th: Qrs assist with Somerset Ambulance for an unkown medical emergency at a residence on Linclon Highway.
Structure Fire
Friday July 26th 0432hrs: Mutual aid assist with Hooversville Fire Department with a structure fire at the former Grand Central Hotel on Main St in Hooversville It was also known as the North Star Inn until it closed. Engine 604-1, Attack 604-2 and Squad 604-4 responded and arrived on scene to find the hotel fully involved and fire that already had spread to the adjacent building which was the former bank building which now is apartments. One apartment sustained heavy fire damage. Those occupants escaped without injury thanks to a neighbor who alerted them of the fire. Another house and also Hooversville's Fire Station and Community Building also received some damage. Engine 604-1 laid 1,000' of 5" supply line into the scene. Eng1 then established a blitzfire attack line and also supplied Richland Twp's ladder trucks. Our crews remained on scene until approximately 0830hrs. See photos here. Monday July 21st 1257hrs: Tree down on Rt30 Stonebridge Hill. Attack 604-2 responded and removed the tree.

Traffic Control
Friday July 11th 1130hr: A lost tractor trailer driver became lost and made his way into the borough. He got too close to the side of the road when he made contact with a phone cable. The cable was ripped from the house and was hanging low over the road and between his tractor and trailer. Attack 604-2 crew responded and established traffic control and removed the low wire. Crews also assisted the driver with getting him turned around and headed in the right direction, to Rt219 north.

Saturday July 5th 1502hrs: Dispatched to assist Boswell Fire with a structure fire at the Boswell Boro Maintenance building on Morris Ave. Stoystown's units were cancelled enroute as we were not needed.

Tuesday July 1st 1250hrs: Qrs assist with Somerset Ambulance for a person received an electric shocked at Highland Tank & Steel Company. A non Highland Tank employee was working with electricity when he was accidentally shocked. He was transported to Conemaugh Hospital.
Vehicle Accident 3rd call of the day
Monday June 30th 1927hrs: Vehicle accident with reported one injury on Cemetery Rd in Stonycreek Township. Attack and Squad crews responded and arrived on scene to find one vehicle involved that struck a utility pole. Somerset Ambulance from the Stoystown station was on scene attending to the driver who refused transport to the hospital. The utility pole was not damaged. Crews directed traffic until the vehicle was removed from the scene. State Police investigated.

Fire Alarm 2nd call of the day
Monday June 30th 1550hrs: Dispatched to assist Shanksville with an automatic fire alarm at a residence on Peninsula Dr in Indian Lake. Engine and Attack crews responded however were cancelled en-route.
Vehicle Accident 1st call of the day
Monday June 30th 0331hrs: Vehicle Accident with no injuries on Rt281 just north of Pompey Hill Rd. Crews responded and arrived to find on full size van in a deep ditch. The accident caused a large amount of sod and mud to be thrown on to the northbound lane which made the road impassable. Crews used shovels and water to remove the sod and mud. State Police investigated the possible DUI accident. Crews returned back in service around 0445hrs.

Reported Trailer Fire
Wednesday June 18th 1804hrs: Stoystown Firefighters were dispatched to a reported trailer fire at 143 Field Dr in Stonebridge Gardens Trailer Court. Engine 604-1 and Attack 604-2 responded and arrived on scene to find smoke conditions inside and removed a dog from the trailer. Fire was contained to the stove's vent and cupboards. Ventilation was set up. Boswell Fire Company assisted. Hooversville Fire Company was cancelled enroute. Fire was caused by burnt food on the stove.

Mutual Aid Structure Fire
Friday June 6th 1602hrs: Stoystown crews were dispatched to assist Hollsopple Fire Company with a structure fire in Seanor. Engine 604-1 and Tanker 604-3 responded. Engine crew arrived and was staged at the hydrant on Rt601 near Miller Picking Rd. Tanker crew was cancelled. Command advised that our Engine and crew was not needed so we were released. Engine was in-service at 1627hrs.

Mutual Aid Structure Fire
Sunday June 1st 0123hrs: Dispatched to assist Hooversville with a structure fire with possible entrapment at 3033 Whistler Rd (rt403). Engine 604-1 responded and arrived on scene to find all occupants out of the house except for a few pets. Our engine crew made entry into the house and found heavy smoke conditions throughout the house. The crew located and rescued the 2 pets, a dog and a bird. Attack 604-2 arrived on scene and provided light and manpower with ventilation. At this point Hooversville arrived and sent in manpower to ventilate the house. The fire was located in the basement furnace room and extinguished. Tanker 604-3 was staged on scene as they were not needed. Friedens crew also assisted with ventilation operations. The fire was located in the basement furnace room and extinguished. Central City was staged on scene and then released. Units cleared the scene around 0335hrs. Motorcycle Accident
Saturday May 24th 1017hrs: Crews responded to a motorcycle accident on Rt30 near Rosenbaum Rd. Attack 604-2 and Squad 604-4 responded and arrived on scene to find 2 motorcycles involved with one minor injury. Somerset Ambulance, Stoystown station responded as well and treated the injured biker, who refused transport to hospital. Hooversville Fire was also dispatched, however they were not needed and was cancelled. State Police investigated.


HazMat Drill
Thursday May 22nd 1900hr: Stoystown Firefighters participated in a Hazardous Materials drill at the North Star Middle School in Kantner. Somerset County HazMat Team, Somerset Ambulance, Boswell Ambulance and Somerset County EMA participated. The incident was a ferric chloride leak from a vehicle that was involved in a vehcile accident.
